Art on the beach
Jesús Moreno gets his nickname YES through the graffiti culture. During his work he uses the letters, shapes and graphic elements to create new compositions by making the sense of written language dissapear. Giving way to a visual language. His encrypted and geometrical language reminds of different mixed alphabets with colourful figures and a game of lines. His willingness of meeting new cultures and places has taken him to painting all around the world
Jesus says:
The idea for a YES mask collection emerged during the COVID-19 quarantine, that I spent in my home-town, Madrid. In April, while being locked at home, going out only for buying groceries, I got to create a lot of art at home. Little by little, the surgery masks came to stay in our lives, specially when the Spanish Government made its use mandatory. Right before that law, I realized that the masks would become a new accessory for our daily lives, so I decided to create three different models, a limited series, unique for the ones who wear it. Giving the masks an exclusive design may be a good opportunity to show my artwork, as well as it would help reducing environmental impact as they are washable and reusable
